  • VISA - visa is needed for Socotra visit. Your visa can be hadled by our agency (it is not possible to get visa without a local travel agency)
  • FLIGHTS - there are 2 options how to get to Socotra. 1) ABU Dhabi - Socotra - ABU Dhabi 2) Cairo - Aden - Socotra - Aden - Cairo. Frequency of these flights is 1-2 times a week. It is not possible to book flights via regular websites. However we will ensure flight tickets for you


YES, the situation in mainland Yemen is not affecting Socotra safety. People of Socotra are living peaceful lives and are friendly to tourists.


Please remember that Socotri people are very conservative. And your clothing should reflect that if you are in the city. In city - both, man and woman should have their knees and shoulders covered. Short sleeve and midi skirt are ok. In nature - you can wear usual clothes - hiking shorts and tank top are fine. On beach bikini is absolutely fine.


Internet - mobile internet is available through 1) Yemeni mobile sim card 2) Emirati mobile sim card - Etisalat. But plese note that even though internet connection is very weak.

Mobile signal - foreign sim cards are not working on the island (=the unique opportunity for a call-free vacation :) )

Money - ATMs are not available. Best option is to bring a cash in USD which you can exchange in local bank

Alcohol - not available in the island, but you are allowed to bring it with you


Majority of equipment will be provided to you. But please note that we recommend you to bring following: 

  • shoes - hiking shoes, flip flops
  • clothes - hiking & beach clothes, modest clothes for time spent in Hadibo, head cover, sun glasses, swetshirt (in mountains temperture can go to 18°C)
  • toiletries - toilet paper, eco-friendly cosmetics, towel, sunscreen (not available in the island)
  • electronics - fleshlight, power bank, 
  • equipment - sleeping bag (comfort 10 - 15°C)

What you don't need:

  • tent, mattress and pillow - we will provide this for you
  • dishes & cookware - we will provide this for you


Food will be provided as "full board". In your trip will be included breakfast, lunch and dinner. Soft drinks will be provided as "all inclusive"

MEALS

  • breakfast - we usually have eggs, jams, Nutella, beans with local bread
  • lunch & dinner - mosly we cook fresh fish or chicken + vegetable + rice & local bread. Fruit is also available (apples, melone, oranges). Choice of protein is usually chosed based on options in terms of freshness.

DRINKS

  • drinking water is available whole time
  • local sweet drinks are available 
  • tea & coffee is available

VEGETARIAN

  • lunch & dinner is cooked in such way that proten can be skipped and you can have vegetagle & sauce with rice & local bread. Just please note that vegetable offer in Socotra is not very bright, so is not huge variety of vegetarian meals that can be cooked.


Socotra is open for tourists from September to mid May. However you should consider the best timing for you based on your preferences.

  • September - December - weather is not stable and you can experience quick changes between rain & sun, it can be windy. On the other hand thanks to rain, wadis are full of water and nice for swimming.
  • January - February - mostly sunny weather, occasional rains, cooler temperatures
  • March - April - very stable sunny weather. With just a light breeze but hot  temperatures. It is peak months of blooming bottle trees.


Most tourists visit Socotra for 1 week. To visit the most famous places of Socotra, 1 week is optimal. If you would like to have more relaxed schedule or visit also places which are mostly visited, then 10 days or 2 weeks might be fine for you.
